Pitti Immagine currently organises the following events – Pitti Immagine Uomo (Men’s fashion collections), Pitti_W Woman Pre-collections (Women’s fashion precollections), Pitti Immagine Bimbo (Fashion collections for the 0-14 age group), Pitti Immagine Filati (yarn collections for knitwear), ModaPrima (fashion collections for men, women and children for large-scale organised distribution), Fragranze (collections of artistic fragrances and essences for the body and home) and Taste (refined food and wine products and culture).

The various events take place at different times during the year, for example, the Pitti Immagine Uomo and the Pitti_W Woman Pre-collections take place on the 15th to the 18th of June, while the Fragranze and is held in September and the Modaprima is held in November. In 2001, Pitti Immagine celebrated the 15th anniversary of Italian fashion with events, publications, exhibits and shows that emphasize the decisive role Florence plays in the international fashion scene. Pitti W Woman is a contemporary exhibition like Pitti Uomo, but dedicated to women’s fashion. The aim is to define the trends of spring 2011 that will be presented in Milan and Paris.
For fashion designers is a very important moment to raise expectations and anticipation of the developments that will be exhibited in Milan and Paris.

In addition, some fashion designers make collections that are only available to buy these days just for the special amusement of the communication between public and exhibitors and the media attention reserved for these international events.

Pitti W Woman, still, is not only high fashion, but also vintage and perfumes. Above all perfumes, to which the exhibition dedicates a special section, are considered by professionals and the public an essential detail of the style of women. Therefore, a connection between clothing, perfume and accessories, in a reciprocal dialogue is established.

The “Designer Collection” is devoted to objects and clothes designed by the major brands and emerging fashion designers to give a preview of what we see on the runways in the coming months.

Pitti Bimbo is the most important international fashion trade fair dedicated to children’s wear. Here many fashion brands and designers feature new item of clothing collections for children.

In Pitti Bimbo is the world of children’s fashion complete thanks to the different sections like sportswear, casual, elegant, and also a section devoted to design and accessories, in the “pop up stores.”

Fragranze is the Pitti Immagine event that is dedicated international artistic perfumery, cosmetics and the most exclusive body care and wellness products.

The event takes place from the 11th till the 13th of September at the Stazione Leopolda venue in Florence. Over 1,700 members of the perfume trade came to the event last year and the number of buyers from abroad was nearly doubled – giving the event increased popularity!

The Stazione Leopolda was the first station built in Florence and it is now used for conferences and fairs. This is the first year that the event will take place in the Stazione Leopolda venue, and the new setting made it possible for Fragranze to host 160 brands of perfumes.

Designed and promoted by the Tuscany Region, planned and organized by Toscana System Foundation, the Festival of Creativity is held in October in Florence and this year reaches its fifth edition. Event already rooted in the line-up of major international events. Great scenery, open to projects and to the contemporary languages, the Festival of Creativity poses an unexpected imagine of Florence and of Tuscany contemporary, permanent creativity campus. This event consists of conventions, shows, workshops, able to involve individuals and communities, big names in art, innovation, economy and culture as well as the informal networks that are the protagonists of the Web and more advanced expressions of social networks.

The first edition was held in 2006. The event aims to bring together different creative expressions in the art, technology and various fields of learning and knowledge. The event takes place in four days at the Fortezza da Basso and is divided over the presence of dozens of exhibitors related to various fields of creative knowledge in a series of meetings, debates, film forums that have as a first challenge the creativity itself.

The first festival in 2006 attracted a total of 170,000 visitors. The following year a new festival which was prepared, attended 350,000 visitors. The 2008 edition, entitled “Visions, voyages, discoveries” had a final count of visitors in just over a year earlier.

The theme in 2009 was “Cities of the future, the future of the city” it has proved highly topical and has been a success.And seems to have born the title of this year: better life, or how creativity can improve the lives of all of us.

The route of the Florence Marathon takes place in one of the most beautiful places in the world: going between landscapes and historical monuments that have made the city famous. Just off the beautiful terrace of Piazzale Michelangelo, the path starts to take an incomparable view and suggests the magic of the path that awaits athletes. From there, the trail winds through the Cascine Park, the historic center, the Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and many other artistic beauty and the residential neighbourhoods of the city, before the close of the solemn magnificence of the Piazza Santa Croce. The passage is not mountainous, except the initial part of doing something outstanding, and always in the streets closed to traffic, which the athletes appreciate very much.

Corri la Vida is the event that each year the last Sunday in September, combines sport and charity. The sole purpose of this marathon is to raise funds to cure various diseases; in fact part of the funds raised this year will be devoted to the purchase of digital mammography, worth 100,000 euros, an instrument with clear advantages for the early diagnosis and cancer treatment.

Registration opens on 1 September, completing the application form. Depending on the chosen path, you can visit free of charge many villages and historic gardens.

In the 2009 edition, with the output from the Piazza della Signoria, was attended by 15,600 people, a success that this event had never encountered before.

This year the third edition of the international documentary film festival “Festival dei Popoli”, will be held in the city of Florence. The popular event is still an important part of the city’s cultural calendar. The festival is used as a meeting point for people interested in documentary film. The event is designed to inspire and educate new talent by bringing together future film makers with experienced film makers, promoting creative documentaries.

Each year the festival has a chosen theme, the timetable ranges from film previews to workshops and debates. The crowds are attracted by guest speakers who are happy to participate and analyse whilst inspiring the students during seminars and panel discussions. Festival dei Popoli is one of the most important festivals dedicated to documentary films. Since its launch in 1959 it has continued to showcase some of the best documentaries produced by international authors.

ATCE is a technical conference and exhibition that takes place for the first time outside the United States in Florence, Italy in September and a month later goes back to Denver, USA. The reason for this is on one hand the fact that round 50%of SPE members has residence outside the United States and on the other a mater of such importance should be an international event. The venue of the fair in Florence is the Firenze Fiera Congress Center.

Organiser is the American company SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers). Host sponsor of the ATCE is Eni, an energy company trading with oil and natural gas.
