This year, the high gastronomy festival returns to the beautiful city of Florence expecting some 10,000 attendees and over 170 exhibitors. Florence’s Stazione Leopolda will be the backdrop for this itinerary of tastings, discoveries and purchases of excellent gastronomic products from all over Italy.

Taste, created by Davide Paolini (Radio24’s “Gastronaut”), is organized by famous Pitti Immagine. The youngest of all the Pitti Immagine events, Taste is an exhibition about the pleasures of the table, exposing the cultural and biological diversity of food. It attracts both food professionals and amateurs at Florence’s Stazione Leopolda.

Practical workshops, ranging from how to shop for seasonal ingredients to 16th-century recipes, complement the main event. However, the pleasures of wine and food are not Taste’s only focus. In fact, the show is also a place for cultural-gastronomic debate. The previous edition featured discussions (Taste Ring) of the trends and styles of the new culture of taste, exhibits of creative craft and design objects (Taste Tools) and, finally, an area dedicated to publishing and documentation. In addition, during Taste’s last week, there will be various collateral events (the “Out of Taste Events”) that will transform Florence into the city of taste.
